It's a forward cockpit. Factor has a problem with the words " forward cockpit". It's his pet peeve. It's all semantics. He will be quick to point out that semantics is the study of the meaning of words but he never sites the entire definition which is - the meaning of words as it changes in context during the course of time. All
boat manufacturers and the general sailing public and all sailing publications refer to this area as the forward cockpit.
As to sailing like a brick –
If you want a performance
catamaran then
Leopard, Lagooon or the FPs are not the place to look. I have no idea why people continue to criticize the sailing capabilities of cruising catamarans. Speed is not what they're built for.
