Daysailing in the ICW near Fort Pierce

Howdee

Can a skipper find lodgings, a ramp and place to park the trailer for a week or two?

Just want to tool around the ICW and maybe swim ashore for a burger and a beer.

Boat is 16' with a wee cuddy and a swing keel (8" board up).

Cheers & Thanks

There are more than a few boat/rv/trailer storage yards within a couple miles drive of ft. pierce inlet and at least a handful of boat ramps. A quickl google should give you an answer.

why swim in, the draft you have takes you to shore? Nice daysail to Jensen bch for great schnitzel at The Hoffman. It's right on the water N. of causeway on mainland side.

Tons of places. You might also consider the same thing for the Sebastian or Stuart areas.

Twas a joke....the swim... : )

Reading for years about Florida waters and mooring or slipping a boat...my boat is tiny but has a cuddy so it can live on a ball. or stuffed in a corner, or a shore.

Really appreciate your reply though.

Would be real neat to find a Maw & Paw place near the water that had a bunk house for rent close to a pub or two....will google "The Hoffman"

Cheers

Take a look at Hip Camp. It's various folks offering places to stay. Never know what you might find there. Hip Camp gets a cut of the fee to support the page and that's fair.
Here is a guy on that site who is offering a free place to stay with a posted price of 10 a night.

In Sebastian you'll find Captain Hiram's on the water. We used to beach our dinghy there for some very low weekly rate and use the showers and leave a car in the lot.
Might be better to launch and then ditch the trailer at Cracker Boys Boatyard in Ft Pierce but they weren't cheap. Someone will likely have a better idea for you.
One big caution from my youth of camping on the beach north of Ft Pierce is be ready for sand flies. They used to drive me to drive about 2 am on a windless night. Worst biter in that area and merciless being 80% jaws. Instant pain!
Good Luck!!
