I'm thinking if you don't have a "home base" or home marina they may rate you as a liveaboard possibly? Thats a good scenerio, I will pose the question to one of my underwriters. I've only quoted boats that have a home marina although they will do live aboards I have not had any requests for liveaboard yacht insurance.

Was talking to a friend of mine this weekend, and he is out of Ormand Beach on a 44' sailboat with Progressive, liability only until he gets a survey done which is when I called Progressive and was told it depends on what zip code. They would not give me a list but I am going to work on getting that list with my contacts with Progressive and see what i can find out. I just know my zip code is only good to 35'.
Its pieces of information like that I can use to grow my clientele. We are licensed in North Carolina if you wanted to get your quote shopped...totally up to you.

Out of curiosity, where are you located that Progressive was able to offer coverages for a boat over 35'? Was told where I live in Florida and most of it they only go to 35' otherwise it is 50'...thanks. Frank
