T105 water consumption

Been a long time since I've had flooded batteries. Installed 2 new T105s in Vero Beach in late January.

I have checked the water level several times and so far, the level has not dropped any. If anything they are a bit too full as just a bit flicks out on the bottom prongs of the cap.

If my monitor is to believed, I rarely go below 80% by morning and by noon am back at 100% with solar. Does the depth of charge effect water consumption? Age of batteries?

i would say .. if they stay mostly charged in acceptance and floating as yours do .. they never get the bulk rate which heats them up.

sounds normal for that use rate. Wet cells shouldn't lose much water and if they do, it's an indication of a charge problem, not a usage one.

BTW, the water level should just touch the bottom of the slotted cylinder that extends from the fill into the battery cell.

What bulk and absorption voltage are you charging at?

I believe it's 14.8 and 13.5. will have to double check my Genasun specs

You’re good. Water consumption will increase with age.

I mean, hey it's a bad time to need some new batteries at the moment! The Genasun is supposed to do a monthly equalize, but has no way to monitor it.

I guess the only downside of not having that Uber newest gismo with the smart phone monitor.

Trojan only recommends equalization when needed. A hydrometer will let you know.

Your batteries couldn't be in better health. Enjoy a very long life from them using them that way.

The equalize is only 15v for one hour on the Genasun. Trojan is 16v until fully equalized via hydrometer. Thought it was recommended as maintenance thing not via any kind of prior diagnostic.

What's the test?
