Battery Connections And Switches

This is for a new LFP system, but being LFP is only slightly relevant.

There will be two batteries in parallel. To keep it simple, as well as to minimize and keep equal cable lengths (that's the LFP part), I've drawn a wiring diagram to be able to isolate the batteries in the RARE case that is needed (the other LFP part).

One switch (a breaker) would be on the positive jumper cable between the batteries, and the other would be on the negative jumper between the batteries. The space available and access makes it more difficult to accomplish this differently.

There will be another breaker and switch at a central location after the batteries.

As a Civil Engineer, that looks good to me, but what do you electrical guys think?

Re: Battery Connections And Switches

I personally don't like the idea of breakers that can be tripped for some reason leading to uncertainty as to why there is suddenly no power. Why not just use a 1,2 Both switch to either parallel them or be able to choose one or the other?

Or each battery has its own cable and isolator running to the bus bars.

OP:
You have provided minimum information but the available short circuit current of a LFP battery is large and may well exceed the ampere interrupt capacity (AIC) of the circuit breaker. Do your homework and be cautious.

Thank you for your responses; I'm still working this out.

Sorry for the slow acknowledgment!
