Lagoon 380 Throttle/Shifter Controls

Greetings, I have a 2009 Lagoon 380 with the original Volvo Penta Throttle/Shifter Controls. My starboard side control lever will not allow me to shift into forward gear. Cables seem fine. So, thinkin its the control unit. Took it apart but nothing apparent to me. Can seemed fine. And throttle worked when I would push in the release/neutral button to rev the engine. Will shift into reverse and throttle works. Just wont shift into forward.

Anyone have any info/advice... suitable dual engine throttle/shifter replacement controls? Anything else I may be missing?

Thanks

Bob Norton

Re: Lagoon 380 Throttle/Shifter Controls

I had the same symptoms a few years ago, but with reverse failing to engage.

The VP dual control has two identical control assemblies, each handling throttle & shifter for one engine. One of these was broken internally and would not move the gear into reverse.

VP part number of one control assembly was 851600, and my files say I paid 140 € for it back in 2017

From memory:
Remove both throttle levers, IIRC there is a small hex screw that holds them in position.
The center part of the plastic cover is just clipped in place. The main cover I am not sure, but you will find out.
The whole assembly was screwed & glued in place. To lift it a bit to get acess to everything you need enough play in the cables.
I had to remove the large wall panel in the port aft cabin to get access to the cables from below and losen everything a bit.

Not super easy but OK for DIY
