Gollygosh boatman, you'll be offline for months.
At least they have internet in Perth, although I hear the constant pedalling can be a bit of a chore.

Re: St Martin to W.Australia
Hello Boatman!
Anglo-French couple looking for passage to French Polynesia (maybe Oz later on...). Any chance you will be passing by?
I have a bit of experience (including Baltic crossing) and my RYA Day Skipper / ICC (for what its worth). Also used to work on a marina in S. France so have been around yachts for a while.
Tiphaine has little experience, but understands the basics and is willing to learn. She's crossed the Atlantic by cargo ship, so knows what watch-keeping involves.
Are both used to life in confined spaces (18 months on a narrowboat, navigating the English waterways).
Have a few interesting tales to tell and would hope to be both reliable crew and good company. We aren’t bad cooks either...
Are currently in Southern Chile and would be happy to make our way up to Ecuador to join you (preferably in late-May/June time (but we are pretty flexible)). Not sure if that fits in with your plans or timetable, but if so let us know.
Are happy to arrange a call if you would like, or can keep in touch by email.
All the best,
Matt

Re: St Martin to W.Australia
Hi Folks...
Thanks for the response.. your timeline is a bit late for us as we are looking at being through the Panama early April and heading off asap after that...
Got to make this a fast run as need to be back in Portugal sometime in June.
Hope you find something that suits you....

Re: St Martin to W.Australia
Thanks for the greetings GordMay and for the prompt reply Boatman.
Have also been in touch with atoll, who has very kindly filled me in a little on your plans... As you say, looks like it won't work this time around. Maybe another time.
Happy sailing!
Matt and Tiphaine

Panama to Perth in 2 months can't be done. Could be time for a plan B.

Re: St Martin to W.Australia
I wouldn't try. Maybe Sydney.
It would be about 5 weeks just to Rarotonga without stops.

Re: St Martin to W.Australia
last time i went across the pacific,2 years ago we managed 4500m in 37 days in a 33 ft yacht,so in a 53 ft yacht and plenty of fuel for the calms, and good trades it is certainly possable, though unlikely!
