Crew for the West Indies and sail back to Europe

Hi there!
We are looking for a crew to sail with us in the West Indies this winter and until Spring, and then we are sailing back to Europe. We want a crew here in the Caribbean and then continuing crossing the North Atlantic via Bermuda.

Our boat is a Swedish Laurinkoster 32 foot, so its quite small but a very beautiful steady old boat, built -65.
The captain Olle is an experienced sailor that has been sailing since he was a kid, and this time to the Caribbean was his third crossing. At the moment we have one crew member on the boat, and two guests sailing with us to Trinidad.

We are looking for people that are respectful, easy to work with and open minded. Since the boat is very small its a good thing if you are not too much of a private nature, we will live upon each other almost

There will be a daily fee that includes food costs, harbor fees and anything around the boat.

Please check out our facebook for more information and pictures from our sailings, facebook.com/ppsailingadventures

Hey there, I have a few questions if you dont' mind. When do you plan on leaving? How many other people are there? About how much would the fees be? Thanks for your time.

Dear Ina and Olle,

We are two 25-year old Danish men who are interested in finding a boat for a North Atlantic crossing from April 2015 (possibly via Bermuda and the Azores).

We will be in Puerto Rico from March 17th and onwards.

Best,
Anton (and Christian)

How much is the daily fee?

You say it includes food costs, harbor fees and anything else around the boat. What does "anything round the boat" mean? Does that mean I will have to pay for fuel and basic maintenance items?

Your boat is fifty years old, if it breaks down will I have to pay to fix it? Or will I have to cancel my travel plans if you are unable to pay to fix it yourself?

Re: Crew for the West Indies and sail back to Europe

For the moment we are counting with 50 us dollars per day, since Caribbean is quite expensive.
When I say anything else around the boat it means that we pay for any costs that will occur due to the boat, fuel, etc.
Yes the boat is fifty years old with a long keel, build in two layers of fiberglass which only gets better and stronger through the years! So it is more likely that a new boat would brake than this old one

Take care!

What is PP Sailing Adventures? I notice on your Facebook page you say your mission is to "promote adventures, free life and the beauty of Morocco" but I am not sure what that means.

Are you a charter company?

You seem like ordinary cruisers charging a fee to promote adventures and free life for yourself but maybe I don't understand correctly.

Re: Crew for the West Indies and sail back to Europe

This boat we are sailing with now is owned by a man owning the Picture Perfect company. During the summers we have the boats in Spain (Gibraltar), doing charters to Morocco and adventure tours in Morocco, such as hiking and climbing trips.
The winter season now we have taken the boats over the Atlantic with a paying crew and are going to continue sailing around the Caribbean until the season is over!

So the daily fee is the daily costs you incur, such as fuel, food, and dockage divided by the number of people on the boat, or is it fixed? Curious because it's not clear.

According to the forum rules you are a Marine Service Provider and should not be posting here since you are soliciting paying crew.

$50 Day times 4-6 people doesn't sound like cost sharing, more like profit sharing.

Let me get this straight, there are 5 on the 32 foot boat now, and you are looking for more?

It includes everything except for what you buy for yourself: alcohol, eating out or whatever you may need for yourself. Since Caribbean is much more expensive than europe (20euro per day and person in Gran Canaria) we have raised the price.
