WTB: Inexpensive boat (under $8k, maybe $15k) in SoCal

I'm on the market for an inexpensive boat in Southern California.

$8k is the high end of my budget, including repairs. I might be able to squeeze a bit more if it's a great deal.

If it's a much bigger boat, I might justify getting financing up to about $15k, but it would have to be pretty nice and maybe 34' or better.

I just missed out on an Islander MKII 30' with new plumbing, decent interior and full electronics (new batteries, radar, chartplotter w/gps) and new bottom paint for $8500. GREAT deal. I'm so disappointed, it was sold an hour before I called.

If anyone has anything for sale, or runs into a good deal and already has a good boat, drop me a line and let me know.

Being inland for the next month in Colorado and Texas, it's very difficult to jump on deals quickly, or spot local sales, but I need something to live on when I get to SoCal in October, so I'm going to have to shop remotely.

Your best bet is for sale by owner, which means ebay and craigslist, IMO. Also keep your eye on the classified section here, on sailnet, L&A and any other sailing boards you know of. Sometimes people post in those sections before going to ebay.

The good deals go away in a matter of hours! Crazy. :-)

To Bad your in So Cal... Down here in SW Fla I have a 30" Albin Ballad that will be a good deal for someone..

And a all ocean boat..!!
