Sailboat adventure

My wife and I will be in the St Augustine area on the 9th and 10th of April. We are hoping to go sailing with a St Augustine sailboat owner on a 3 to 5 hour cruise. We will be happy to pay for this adventure. Show us the area you love and share with us your love of sailing.

Re: Sailboat adventure

You want someone to take you out for a "three hour tour". Don't you think that would be tempting fate just a little?

Just kidding of course. I think there are a number of CF members in St Augustine. Hopefully one of them sees your post and responds.

Good luck and enjoy your holiday.

Re: Sailboat adventure

I am not holding out thoughts of washing up on an unchartered desert isle but a good ride around the St Augustine area would work just fine. I have sailed quite a few times. My wife has never been on a sailboat.

I'm in Gainesville so not far from St Augustine and do have a boat but it's parked under a tree in the woods. You're welcome to come sit on the deck and daydream.

That might be the safest way to go sailing. Thanks Skip.

Maybe, maybe not. I managed to fall off a few months ago and almost killed myself. Of course completely operator error.

On the other hand, if you're subject to motion sickness then this would be just the ticket.

Re: Sailboat adventure

Your boat is sounding better and better. I will bring the cooler and the sunscreen and have a lovely afternoon on a sailboat and know that my dear wife will not get sick. This could be a perfect introduction of sailing.

Set a rainbird and a fan on the bow and have a realistic experience. Mac

I think I am having more fun with some of the posts than I ever could on a sailboat

Since the mast is down I'll add a stick and a bed sheet to really enhance the experience.

Well, you know the old joke about sailing (and don't tell this one to your wife)?

Sailing is like standing in a cold shower wearing a raincoat and tearing up hundred dollar bills. More realistic if the shower is bouncing up and down.

Re: Sailboat adventure

There are plenty of hourly rental charters out of St Augustine if you don't find one here.

Re: Sailboat adventure

Thanks all. It has been fun. I might bring a bass drum and hit it once in a while and tell my wife it is the boom.
