Re: 55# Delta Anchor

Scoob, before you even think about stainless for your anchor, look at the strength vs. galvanized. Stainless is not anywhere near as strong. Stainless is prone to crevice corrosion you can't see. Galvanized will have visible rust if it's corroding, giving you ample warning to correct the problem -- same issue with chain.

Stainless looks great on a big expensive powerboat that never, ever anchors overnight. It's not the right material, in my opinion, however, for keeping your home safe.

I've got a stainless swivel thing on my very nice Spade anchor that came with the boat. That is going into the odd parts bin before next season. I think the Spade is from the original owner, and the swivel from the next owner, the fellow I bought the boat from. The Spade is a sweet anchor. I also have a Delta I purchased, because Deltas have held me safe for over 20 years. But the Spade will be the primary now. I had never heard of a Spade prior to buying the boat.

Re: 55# Delta Anchor

No, it is not stainless but is a good strong anchor with no rust.
