Saloon Door Removal

I'm looking at removing my saloon door as its becoming hard to slide. It appears all the black coating that the door slides on has been warn away. Has anyone removed this door - is there a process?

Re: Saloon Door Removal

Yes, the process is to evenly lift up the entire door and slide the bottom of the door outward slightly off the lower track. Then drop the door slightly and it should release from the top track.

If you are lucky, the problem will be worn rollers on the bottom of the door. Replace the rollers and reinstall the door.

If the door doesn’t lift enough to get it off the lower track there is an adjustment on each roller to adjust the rollers up and down. Adjusting the rollers up, gives more clearance to remove the door.
At each end of the door, near the bottom, there is a small round hole. Insert a very long screwdriver into the hole and unscrew the screw. This will allow the roller to lift up. The screw doesn’t need to come all the way out. Then you should be able to lift the door and slide it outward and then down.
