Using Samsung S-pen in Opencp and AMOLED

Good day all,

I am thinking of buying a Samsung tablet S3. However I have 2 questions of which I hope someone can help me with.

1. Is the amoled screen bright enough to use outside in sunshine?
2. Can you use the S-Pen for selecting the menu’s and for example clicking a a vessel to see AIS data like CPA?

Thanks GerardV

My Rugged RT 7" tablet has a 1000 Nit screen brightness. It is barely viewable in bright sunlight, but fine in shade. (very large print, and high contrast documents: OK. Chart detail: Not readable)

The Samsung tablet S3 has a better screen (AMOLED) but only 441 Nit screen brightness.
