RTL_SDR plugin Windows

The Plugin is missing the RTL_FM in program. How to add this?

You need to download it (I found a link in the main rtl-sdr thread) and install in the plugins... You now use rtl-ais rather than rtl-fm etc.

The whole plugin is missing for Linux. I asked about it here a week or so back but got no response so I guess whoever compiles the plugin is offline.

Yes it does not show up in Synaptic package manager (or with apt install )


I have the opencpn PPA configured


Ubuntu Bionic but I'm using Mint.

In windows the option to choose a program (ais-fm or rtl-fm) is missing. The only thing I can find about it is that this is normaly includedin the plugin.

Did you copy all of the plugin files to the bin directory?


If you think you have followed all the steps try running OCPN as administrator to check whether it is a permission issue or not.

Thank you. I checked post 386 from the original threat again, an I discovered that I had the same problem with the divices. Added -d1 at extra agrs, and AIS is working like a charm.
