dacust:

I got the IENC, thanks. There is an internal problem with this cell. I can code around the problem, so at least we don't crash. It displays mostly OK, certainly usable, with some odd features shown. Next Beta....

If you are stuck and can't start opencpn, edit the config file and change the lines:

VPLatLon=" 43.7761, 25.8705"
OwnShipLatLon=" 47.5864, -122.4435"

to someplace outside of Hungary. Thanks again.

Gilletarom: I see and reproduce the "many boats" problem. This is a Windows-only bug, and corrected in the next Beta. Thanks.

Bluegillboy: Thanks for the input. Working on this today...More later.

cagney: Got the patch, testing now. Thanks.

Thanks all. Expect a new Beta today...

Dave

RC613a

Hi testers!

OpenCPN Version 2.1.0 Beta RC613a is available

http://opencpn.org/downloads/beta/opencpn_210_setup.exe

Changelog:
181. Correct RouteManager Route Delete logic
182. Correct shared routepoint delete logic
183. Partially compensate for some IENC internal errors.
184. Re-allow quilting of Polyconic charts.
185. Implement sound alarm for Anchor Watch excursion.

---Release Beta RC613b---

CVS updated.

Notes:
184. After some testing, I re-enable polyconic quilting. It seems that for large scale polyconics charts, it works well enough to simply consider them to be Mercator-ish. The quilt auto-scale algorithm seems to prvent highly mismatched quilts. However, I left in the note about poor chart accuracy in the info box, just for good practice.

185. Thanks to Cagney for the patch. Please note that the sound emitted on Anchor Watch excursion/incursion is the same sound that is used for AIS alarms. We need a brand new dialog to select sounds, and better sound management entirely. But this will work for now.

Thanks, and good luck
Dave

Thank you, Dave for the latest beta!

Regarding 184. I'm fairly confident that your arguing here applies to "Gnomonic" charts as well. If you are interested I can send you one or two charts + some surrounding mercs.
There is no urgency for this!

running on 2.6.32-22-generic #36-Ubuntu SMP (Ubuntu 10.04)
installs fine using cmake

it actually seems to load & run a lot faster than RC607 did ten minutes ago.

cheers & thanks

First test of 613a.. The bug "with many boats" seems resolute.

Best regards

Thumbs up ANCHOR WATCH

Hi to you all

Just downloaded rc613a for windows and tried it with my CM93 charts for the first time.

I noted from the update notes that there should be an anchor watch facility but I have not been able to find this via the Toolbox.

Any help with this would be appreciated ie how to set up and use

Great program and best wishes to all of the hard working contributors and especially Dave

Hello, luckily Cagney aka Thomas has just written up a rather pretty illustrated wiki entry on this. The design is by Pjotr. I think the way he squeezed it into the existing UI is clever, but it does hinder intuitive discovery of the feature. Not sure how this could be improved, perhaps a tooltip on the anchor mark symbol ("anchor alarm") or an anchor menu item with a modified mark properties dialogue (saying "radius" instead of "mark name").

The license that applies to the wiki is available here.
That is a lot of legalese, but the main thing is that if your French site uses the same "
GNU Free Documentation License", then there are no problems at all. If not, read the license and see what possible restriction there are.
Generally it is a free license that encourage redistribution.

Everyone, please check the
News page on the wiki, about updating the wiki to reflect the new upcoming release. All contributors are encouraged to update their writings.

Hello,

Windows : 210 - 611a

Now, the directory "wvsdata" is empty.
- --> It is not possible to select "Alert sound"

I am trying "Anchor watch.
After creation of the mark MOB
After have changed its name in "60 "
when I right clic on the mark, in the menu there is not "Set anchor watch" item.

- --> Is it necessary that GPS operates to make the test ?

Best regards

Gillatarom.

You don't have to use the MOB icon. The anchorwatch option only appears if you are close to the boat and it appears on any icon

Gilletarom/idpnd

I have just updated the wiki with this sentense

Quote:
This means that the Anchor watch items, on the right click menu, will only be visible if your boat is within 0.5 nautical miles of any mark.
I hope that this makes the situation clear.
In your case just right click near your mark and select "Move Boat Here", and you should see the anchor watch item in the right click menu.

Regarding 182 in latest beta.
Yes, this works, but with a side effect.
In the three point situation with routes from 1 and 2 to 3, and then deleting 3, points 1 & 2 are now, not recognized as marks, in the right click menu. To get rid of them I dropped another mark and deleted all marks, but this is not a good general solution.
