C:\Users\François\Desktop\NewCalibCharts(\flint.ka p,....)
E:\Bat\CMap\CM93(\00300000....)
E:\Bat\MaptechCharts\Fr Atlant SW(\2042.bsb, 2042_1.kap,.....)

Path selected is the one before (\...)

Uninstalled build 1216 (twice), deleting opencpn folder, full search for 'opencpn' on C: drive returned no (obvious) config files in app data.

Installed 1.3.4, test OK, then installed 1216 beta in subdirectory within the opencpn folder (OK for previous beta version), program crashes at startup...

Hope that helps....

I enclose the log file after deleting all files from the OpenCPN Application Directory (.log .ini .dat and .xml files) and starting OpenCPN for first and second time. I just point OpenCPN to the BSB files main directory C:\GPS\Charts\ after scanning I get No Chart Available and Black Chart Canvas.
(Renamed log file to .doc to upload it)

Normally I just point OpenCPN to the /opt/Navigation/CM93ed2-09
directory and everything is fine. Now however no charts can be found ( first entry above). If I point to /opt/Navigation/CM93ed2-09/CM93, things are back to normal and the charts are available again (second entry above).
Sounds exactly like the problem I reported in posts #186 and #193...

Have the same problem got "the black screen" when I updated to 1216. I have program under C:Program and charts under D:CM93. Before the update everything worked ok. Had to go back to ver. 1210

Black lines on raster charts

PeteCross....

Considering your bug report today....

Do you see this effect on all raster charts, or just some?
If just some, or one, could you email a copy of that chart to me?

btw, I have used autofollow underway for years. This is my normal mode.
Lines or discontinuities do not appear on my mostly NOAA and Softchart raster charts.

Thanks
Dave

I looked through your log. You are loading a bunch of Swedish Charts, but your screen location is revealed by this line
Quote:
02:36:00: Setting Viewpoint Lat/Lon 8, -79,282
That is on the Pacific side of The Panama Canal in Gulf of Panama, and there are no charts available for this area, as none are loaded.
Go to ToolBox ==>> Settings and tick the box "Show Status Bar"
This will give you your position at the bottom of the screen. Use this to navigate to an area where the charts you have loaded are.

Thomas

PS For Dave:
This highlights idpnd:s request here.

Since the test uses a certain kap file, I will email you that one.

Tomas,

Yes I can do that.
But as I have deleted the Application Data files first, where does this "Location" come from.
I did notice this strange location and thought it part of the fault senario.

Hi Thomas,

I enclose a screenshot of the first start up after Application Data is removed. ie a "clean" start up, as far as I can see.
Note: only TrueScale is displayed.

BTW the World.kap is loaded, as usual, so there is a chart available.

It seems you have a bad apple in your chart collection.
Quote:
02:24:55: OpenChartFromStack...Error opening chart C:\GPS\Charts\1B Översikt Stockholm (1998).KAPBAD at index 0, return code 2
What if you moved this chart "Översikt Stockholm (1998).KAPBAD" to a directory not included in your chart path. Then go to Toolbox ==> chart and click OK so the charts reload.

By the way, your screen dump shows that you are way zoomed out, chart-scale is 1:154 millions. Try to zoom in a bit.

Hi Thomas,

I removed the bad chart and we get a bit further, but not there yet...

I enclose screendump and logfile.

Still can't see where the location is comming from. Is it hardcoded without ini file?

Thanks,
Pete

Hello!
The black screen. I reinstalled XP, then OpenCPN 134 and CM93 (in the root directory c:CM93). It works well. When I upgrade with Open CPN beta 1226, it doesn't work: black screen!!
