I have been using OpenCPN a lot this year, probably 5,000+ miles, mainly around Northern Europe and the Mediterranean. Charts are CM93, Spanish, Italian, Dutch ENCs and a few KAP charts.
I can get the tide stations to open up but can't see any current arrows - is there something else I need to have installed.........

There is no current data for Europe in the package (copyright reasons) and few tide stations.
Have you tried the US Eastern coast to see if it works ?
Hi Gerhard
The files (plain .grb version) I have downloated won't open in Ugrib, Zygrib or GribView. They give unhelpful splashes of colour in OpenCpn. ViewFax (Airmail) shows arrows but is stuck on the first date.
Can you describe your experience with them ?
Thanks for that link Gerhard - only problem is that you need to be in contact with the rest of the world to download - fine for planning but not when offshore

That is for shure true for any information. Until now it is a matter of spending money to receive internet in the middle of an ocean but it is possible already even for a small sailing boat. May be this changes one day as all this technology becomes cheaper by the times.
