There is no separate download available for this plugin.
Which leads to the question, what plugin are you talking about?

Thomas
If I look in Setup>Plugins I have four versions of the Grib Plugin 1.4 up to 2.2.

There is no version of the plugin that matches the OCPN version.

I know that in the past I have downloaded a couple of grib plugins that people have uploaded as the built in version has never done what I have needed.. I don't remember which one is the default sorry.. certainly in plugins it's not labeled 3.3 anything.

Confusingly version 1.4 seems to be the most advanced and seems to work OK, 2.2 crashes on loading a file, 2.1 and 2.0 have the least features, and I suspect one is the default, but seem OK too.. - so 2.2 is the gremlin

Chris...
The current version of the Grib plugin is 2.2 and as Dave wrote a couple of posts above, it has some bugs...

Littlechay,

I presume that you are using OpenCPN 3.3.1117 version.

In that case, the Grib Plugin program is named as : grib_pi.dll as you can see on the attached file.

This plugin is the one which is attached to the last openCPN Beta version

Littlechay...

As stated, GRIB 2.2 is the current (3.3.1117) release.
It works fine for me on XP, minimally tested.

Can you post a GRIB file that you have tried to open, and gotten a crash?
Also, what system are you running?

Thanks
Dave

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1117 Released

Sorry Dave, to disturb you ...

I found a little time to work on the language file with the new file OpenCPNpot.

In the window of the list of AIS targets, everything is ok, except maybe the "Interval" column. The word "interval" is not into the pot file.

In the window of information sent by a target, it is a little better but not perfect.
In the right column, the words "Report age", "Heading" and "Turn rate" are not into the pot file.
In the "CPA" line, the word "in" between distance and time is not into the pot file.
And as in target list, the word "Intervalle" is not in the pot file.

All these words can not be translated.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1117 Released

.On both Linux Mint 13 (lts) and Mint 15 opencpn beta 3.31117 quits when trying to change charttexts or windowstyle in user interface.
not a big problem for me I can change in config file but just to let you know.
The Mint 13 Installation is from nohals ppa and the mint 15 from ubuntu 32 download on opencpn.org.
I think (but I'am not shure) this has been a problem in the past to.

problem 2: I can not get F6 dimming to work! it shows the right text but nothing happens. Think I saw something about linux and this before but cant find the posts about it.

Windows 7, all up to date.
I have worked it out I think. After I installed 3.3.1117 there was no default loaded file... and whenever I tried to load a file I got the crash. Since then I have run the grib plugin version 1.4 from the OpenCPN file thingie site. Now that there is default file showing up as soon as OCPN is loaded I don't get the crash.

I think the file causing the crash was .bz2 file but it now seems OK

Can I clear that variable .. is it in the .ini file .. to start without a default file and try again.

Code:
sudo apt-get install xcalib
should solve your problem.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1117 Released

Gilletarom...

I have corrected the missing strings in the AIS target query dialog. Github .pot is updated.

In the AIS Target List, the term "Interval" is actually, in English, "Range". This word is in the pot file, and may be translated. Am I confused here?

Thanks

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1117 Released

I forgot to mention in my previous post.

As I mentioned I have a couple of versions of Grib plugins installed.. If I disable all but one so that I don't get confused as to which one I'm testing and then shut and re-open OCPN they are all enabled - four GRIB buttons in the toolbar. Totally repeatable

I thought that it should be ok to have different versions installed, they have different names?

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1117 Released

Chris...
We are not doing anything about the version of the plugin during it's activation/deactivation (usually viable as even after an upgrade of a plugin, your settings are kept). But in your case
Code:
[PlugIns/GRIB]
bEnabled=1
causes all of them to be activated on startup...

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1117 Released

Hello GRIB-ers....

The crash bug in the GRIB PlugIn with 3.3.1117 is now understood. It happens when there is no (or empty) last GRIB file entry in the .ini file.

Code:
[Settings/GRIB]
Filename=
A corrected replacement for the Windows grib_pi.dll is attached. Also, the github master has been updated for source builders.

We will not release a new Beta for this fix. Interested testers may use this attachment, or build from source.

Thanks
