Open CPN on Chrome OS

Hi,
I am a frequent user of Open cpn which I have installed and run many times on Windows PC or Android tablets. This time a friend asked me to install it on a Chrome Book (Acer 314): is it possible and if so, which version? Is there a specific one, or can the Android version be suitable? Thank you for your advice and feedback.

Re: Open CPN on Chrome OS

Hi,
We have just started to use an Asus Chromebook with Chrome 99.0 and OpenCPN for Android 5.2.8. We also had to add an external GPS and use a GlobalSat BU-353-S4 USB GPS, $32 at Amazon. No problems so far...
Good luck, Mike

Sorry to bother you again, Mike: I searched for the antenna drivers (it's the same as you) but I can only find for Windows, Mac and Linux... Do you have a web link for the drivers specific to Chrome Os? Thank you

I've had no luck with the S3 version. I wonder if that makes a difference.

HI there... have you tried to attach a radio dongle for AIS? I have a GPS puck I've been running on a Raspberry Pi with OpenCPN, but think the Chrome solution might be an easier setup for me....also do you use VNC viewer to allow Pads or phones to control the system remotely?

Thanks!
