Setting the slider to 3, 4 or 5 is not a good solution as the rest of the graphics looks oversized and not good.

If that is done, each icon will be a different viewbox size.

When I process the SVG, I will make the viewbox a specified size(in mm) on screen, adjusting here for display DPI.

So, that will make "diamond" say 3 mm in size. It will also make lighthouse 3 mm in size. Not what we want. We lose the designed size difference between diamond and lighthouse.

So, the viewbox must be the same for all icons. There will be more white space in diamond than in lighthouse.

Dave

Dave asked that each icon be exported to SVG - all on the same paper size. The paper size I chose was 18 mm x 18 mm as this takes care of the largest icon.

However, it shows way to small in OpenCPN. Here is a image showing the same icon on various paper sizes. The icon which appears correctly sized is the one where the paper sizes matches the icon size.

I stand to be corrected, but it appears that Dave did not make allowance for the larger than icon paper size (18mm x 18mm).

It also seems that we are working with different sets of icons (some are mine, others are Hubert's, etc.) and this is perhaps the reason we are all getting different results.

Re: New Standard Waypoint Icons For OpenCPN - Input Requested

Good Morning...

Some bugs in previous 462 related to monitor size detection.

Please try this one:

http://opencpn.navnux.org/beta/opencpn_4.6.2_setup.exe

You must check and confirm the detected monitor size, or set an override if the detected size is not correct. Windows does a bad job of actual physical size determination, and Win10 may do even more scaling to scramble the math.

You will see this in the log:

Code:
10:32:44: Detected display size (horizontal): 320 mm
10:32:44: Display size (horizontal) config override: 550 mm
Here is the current icon set to use.

http://opencpn.navnux.org/beta/OpenCPNSVGIconsv2.0.rar

So, now the new icon sizes should be similar to the older png sizes, whatever scale factor is chosen in options->UserInterface.

See attached pix, showing old Anchorage to left, and new anchorage to right.

Good Luck
Dave

Hi Dave!

That fixed the issue for me. They are now about the same size as the old Anchorage mark and they look great!

Thanks for the quick fix!

Ahoy source builders...

The SVG icon code is now available in the github master repository. Build and test on linux if you like.

Thanks

Re: New Standard Waypoint Icons For OpenCPN - Input Requested

On my monitor, detected display size = 494 mm.
The icons are a little too small for my liking.
I would like to see a 15% increase in size.

Btw.: the garbled presentation of mixed S-57 and CM persists. Just for the record...

bcn....

"This version will break the canvas when using S-57 and CM at the same time.
OpenGL ON and OFF..."

Works fine for me. More detail please. Exact same config on 461 works?

Anyone else tried cm93 and native S57 at the same time on 462?

Revelations...

Please compare the original "diamond" to the new SVG "Diamond" . They should be nearly the same size. Are they? Pix, please?

Thanks
