In fact for the logbook to take into account the information nmea, it is necessary to click on its icon (in fact to open it) and then it works.

With this change, the timer step has been shunted but not the launch of the logbook that must still be launched by yourself ...
So you also want the window to open automatically as well? Why? What purpose should it have for navigation? I, and as it seems Peter as well while implementing your request, understood starting the timers and actually recording the data is what is important to you. I personally would not be very happy if the window kept popping open whenever I start OpenCPN, as reading the logbook records is rarely why I start it.

it may be a misunderstanding related to google translator ... but in any case, I do not want to open the logbook window automatically.

What I wrote after testing (at home and not on the boat) with a usb gps and a module bme280 is that the logbook does not immediately record data nmea after opening opencpn .

When I start opencpn, the nmea data are automatically retrieved and displayed on the dashboard.
But they are not saved in the logbook, even after checking the new implemented box.

In order for the recording to start, I have to click on the icon (open the logbook) and afterwards - of course - close it again and in this case, the nmea data are saved in the logbook.

I have to look into this.
Unfortunately I don't have much time the coming months.

I can confirm that behavior on a win 10 laptop - auto restart of the timer only appears to happen after the logbook has been opened.

I always make a log entry before leaving but often forget to set the timer so it works perfect for me - thanks!

Peter,
You do not have to be sorry.
I really appreciated your responsiveness and your efficiency. The improvement of the timer check box is already a good step.

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hello,

I tried to alter/create a new layout.

To do so, I selected HTML and the default layout in the top-box and clicked the (E)dit-button.

But, unfortunately, the dialog box appeared too little and I can't resized it.
I'm unable to click "ok".

The same occured with win10 or win7, and also for HTML or ODT, and for all layouts... and it is impossible to resize...
I add a screen picture...

Is there any way to change the location of the XML file and have OCPN find it? I can't seem to find any reference to the findit.xml file in either the INI or LOG files....

?
It's the same problem with the Logbook.
My barebone-computer on the boat have no access to the net (i don't want), so these files are automatically copied on an usb stick when the computer is shutdown, through a batch file.

In your case, you can do +/- the same, with this little script which work, i tested it:

@echo off

xcopy C:\"ProgramData\opencpn\plugins\FindIt"

C:\"Users\**NAME'S COMPUTER** \SkyDrive\opencpn\plugins" /e /i /k /h /y

exit

You copy/paste it with Notepad++ and then save as "*the name you want*.bat".
N.B. On my computer the local name is OneDrive too, but it doesn't work. I have to write SkyDrive

Like you, i believe this is a feature request : choice of saving the data from the Logbook and FinIt.
Submit it, i will vote

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

You guys should be using Tracker to log these requests, I think.
In the top menubar https://opencpn.org/
Register and then create a Task under project pi - findit and pi - logbook

Select Bug or Feature Request and describe completely.
Have a short clear title.

Thanks.

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hello,

On the logbook, it is possible to hide columns that are not used.
But how to add columns ?

For example, in addition to columns on the weather, I would like to add columns on the tides, such as high and low.

Regards,
AlainS

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

In the log file, I noticed the following message, only for the logbook plugin:
"Warning: ICCP: known incorrect sRGB profile."

Apparently this error message does not affect the logbook nor opencpn in general.

Should i post it in the tracker or it is not important ?

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Alain, yes post in tracker. With details. Have you tried reinstallation? It may be a config problem. Can anyone else confirm this message? Is it repeatable?

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Reason is the outdated colorsync profile data of some icon pictures. Easy to fix using the convert command from ImageMagick:

convert -strip old-icon-name new-icon-name

Gerhard. Thank you!
While we are talking about Icons I notice there are no SVG icons either.
Can someone create them?

There is no benefit using svg icons. The logbook plugin doesn't run faster with svg icons.
