Help for official android app

Not sure where to turn to - posting here in case Dave Register reads these forums. As a paid user of the android opencpn app, I have been trying to register on the bigdumbboat forums. I cannot complete the registration because in spite of a dozen attempts, I am not getting the activation email. The entire forum section seem to be walled off behind activation (whose bright idea was that?), so I can't even post my troubles on that forum.

And before anyone asks, yes, I have checked my spam folder

I am having the same trouble. I would like to view the forum to look at purchasing the app but can't get get the activation e-mail. I have tried using two separate e-mails and checking my spam. cpalmer and cpalmer1 if anyone can help.

I am affraid I have the same problem as sugatam. I tried to register at the forum on the page in Google Play where I purchased OpenCPN for Android last year. Unfortunately an email with code to activate did not come and after several repeated attempts to register I am still not accepted as a member of the forum. The only result is that when trying again I now read a message that I have to wait for about a month before I can be admitted to the forum. I don't know what I did wrong. An attempt to reach opencpn@bigdumboat.com by email on this subject also failed.
Help would be greatly appreciated.

But problem remaines that after filling in username and password I still read:
"You have failed to login within the required number of attempts. You must wait 618 h 47 m 45 s before you can login again."
Do I really have to wait that long?
By the way, can I approach the forum on my laptop or is it obligatory to do this on the tablet, in Google Play?

A few moments ago I tried to login again on a different spot (and on my laptop) and now I am on the forum. So I have to conclude that at first I took the wrong entrance!

I am stuck here as well. I just purchased official opencpn android but it will not recognize the GPS. I need help but the forum will not send out an activation email. I am trying to register as capnkeith, please let me in...

Hi Dave, I was wondering if you were still about a few days ago.

Since I am trying to draw down my retirement fund and have started buying expensive MFD's and radars and stuff so that my ingrate offsprings won't get to enjoy an inheritance I don't use OpenCPN on my computer as much as I used to but still often use your Android version on my tablet for anchor watching. Best few dollars I ever spent on boat stuff.
