GSHHS changed to GSHHG?

Other than the above where to download gshhs?


Using the GSHHS Shoreline Database
Sean has it changed to gshhg ??

I disabled rendering borders a while ago because there was no hash table for them so it was incredibly slow... with little effort I could make borders render efficiently but I like to see the world without borders.

As for the update database... maybe we should integrate it. I wonder how much detail is improved for rivers and lakes. The other interesting feature is the additional ice front information. Not sure how the best way to integrate this into opencpn, but perhaps via a plugin.

One question I had was if it is more accurate, how much slower the inland rivers detail will make it? My guess is this,is a more accurate and current version.

If implemented correctly there would be no slowdown, in fact it could already be much faster in many cases.
