Question CMaps on to Open CPN

I have open CPN version 5.2.4. 6b314e6.
I have downloaded a set of Australian charts from the Open CPN chart downloader which are quite good but they don't include up river waterways and lakes. Am wondering if I can download say CMap charts onto Open CPN.

Please have a look on O-Charts possibilities to see if you find what you are looking for.

Just depends what version of CMap you have.

CMap ver 2, dating from about 8 years ago, no problem with OpenCPN.

CMap ver. 3/CMap Professional+ edition 3, no chance of working with OpenCPN.

On the left, CMap ver 2 in OpenCPN 5.6.0.

On the right, CMap Professional+ edn 3 from I think 2020 or 2021 in some other software

Astonishing how good the old CM93v2 still are. I navigate with them since more then 10 years in the Med and NorthSea and never missed anything.

Ouch! Where are my manners?!?!

Welcome aboard Cruisers Forum, Sandshoe!

I've been known to wear Dunlop Volleys as deck shoes (in what passes for wintry weather around here. And there's been a bit of that the past few weeks too).

Hope you find a lot of good friends and information on CF.

Re: CMaps on to Open CPN

Thanks Alan Almighty, being a beginner at setting up and adding downloads to Open CPN my next question is where do I find the compatible Cmaps and how do I download them onto my Open CPN 5.2.4.
My home port is Macleay River NSW but also hang out at Iluka when not cruising. Presently in beautiful and friendly Lake Macquarie.

1. https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums...ml#post3712119

2. https://opencpn.org/wiki/dokuwiki/do...Achart_formats - start reading at "CM93 version 2".

Note that you can easily upgrade your OpenCPN installation:

1. https://opencpn.org/OpenCPN/info/downloadopencpn.html

2. https://opencpn.org/OpenCPN/info/downloadplugins.html
