First, the Canadians ain't givin' them way for free.

I bought mine through the Nautical Mind Bookstore, chart set RM-CEN04 Lake Erie (nauticalmind.com). Just a quick look through my e-mails. The set cost CAD $49.95. That buys only Lake Eire and 2 years of updates. You would have to purchase other lakes as you need them. They may sell a complete Great Lakes set.

The chart set is RNC's. Don't even think of buying the ENC's, I stumbled upon them last year, took one look at the $695.00 price tag and just moved on.

Nautical Mind will also e-mail you a purchase code and PDF's with the instructions to set up an account with the Canadian Hydroghraphic Service to activate the chart set.

The ENCs for Canada you get at o-charts for OpenCPN for 20€/set.
Content is identical with the CHS official charts. Update cycles as well.
