Bug report: pinch-to-zoom unresponsive, Surface Pro 9 (Win11)

Hi; I have new Surface Pro 9 running Windows 11. I installed the latest OpenCPN (5.8.4-0) and some charts.
The problem I'm seeing is that when using a vector chart and pinching on the screen (multitouch) to zoom in and out, the display does not zoom until I lift my fingers. It moves around (panning), so I know it's getting the touch events, but it doesn't zoom smoothly the way it does with the mouse wheel (or two-finger trackpad scroll). Sometimes if I pause, it'll zoom, but usually it waits til my fingers lift.
With raster charts, the zoom works mostly as expected (though the zoom origin isn't centered between my fingers -- maybe a hidpi issue there). MBTiles are decently responsive to pinch zoom as well, so I think (?) it's a vector-chart problem.
It seems to be the same with quilting on or off.
I'm a total newb with OpenCPN so let me know if I'm just missing a setting or something.
