Bug: right-click route menu only available when a route waypoint is displayed

I believe there was a similar bug report in the monster thread. Couldn't find it quickly enough.. Here the bug report for 925:

When only the blue line of a route is shown, but no waypoints are visible on the display, then the right click does not bring up the route editing menu.

EDIT: correcting myself, one has to zoom in far on a route, the waypoints need to be "far away" to make this happen

Bug: Heading of own ship sometimes wrong on skewed charts

Dave,

On my system opencpn rotates the own ship using the NMEA HDG message. Since 917 it does this fine, except on a skewed chart.

Screenshot 1 and 2: Different scales raster charts, the own ship points in the correct direction and it always does this.
Screenshot 3: switching to a skewed chart, the direction of the ship seems to stay as if it was a N up chart. This does not always happen, but often.
Screenshot 4: after waiting for several seconds, it does turn to the right direction. The waiting time seems random and much longer than to 2 second (the HDx message intervall), more like 10sec, sometimes 30sec. On the skewed charts it also randomly turns back to the N-up direction. Then back to the proper direction

There are no HDx timeout messages in the log.

Sorry for a pretty vague bugreport, let me know of any further tests I should perform to better reproduce this bug.

Just an FYI: If you wrap CODE tags around the text (It's the # button in advanced view), it maintains the spacing and uses a non-proportional font.

Can't fix this one. wxWidgets/Windows bug. Can improve it so that at least the next time you do Route Properties, the column headings are re-drawn. So at least you don't need a re-launch.

Sorry

All...

Still have a possible open bug with Route/Track import/export to other program/device.

Reported as:

t
Code:
o complete jpebrig ( post #13), I export tracks in gpx and import in gpx.
1 / import track : none result
2 / the copy ans paste from gpx (other program) to navobj.xml of several lines of track (<trkseg ...........</trkseg>) product one yellow large track.
moreover... and one track test (opencpn) in the .... TGV product yellow large track.
Anyone recognize this? Anyone tried to export/import Routes and Tracks from another program/device? Seems to work OK for me on XP and Ubuntu....

I have never successfully exported gpx routes for use in google earth (ubuntu). I also tried conversion to KMZ, which didn't work either..

Dave,

* I successfully export routes from Opencpn in GPX files. And then with GPSbabel, succesfully send them to my Garmin GPS (I had to change the interface NMEA/NMEA with which I work with Opencpn, for GARMIN/GARMIN) and then successfully import them to a different navigation program. I have just lost the name of the route while sending GPX file to GPS with GPSbabel.

By the same way, but inverse : other navigation program --> Garmin GPS 126 --> GPSbabel --> GPX file --> Import in Opencpn, I succedfully transfer all my routes from the other program to Opencpn. I Have just lost all the names of the different routes.

* I try to do the same with an Opencpn track which I export to a GPX file, but I never succed to transfer anything in the GPS with GPSbabel. GPX file seems to be good, but I don't really know to what it should look to. So I don't know if it doesn't work because of GPSbabel or because of Opencpn GPX's file.
I cannot try to do the opposite because I cannot export Tracks from the other program.

For me, no problem with column heading in Route Properties, just a little problem when I want to change the width of the Distance's column, nothing serious.

Dave,

I have to do a correction. When I export a route from Opencpn to a GPX file, the GPX file has all the waypoints in it. But when I succeed to transfer to the GPS this GPX file with GPSbabel, I quiet always loose the first waypoint of the route and I have a message from the GPS saying that the first waypoint has been deleted because it was invalid.

When I don't succeed, i get this message :

jp@jp-laptop:~$ gpsbabel -r -i gpx -f guat.gpx -o garmin -F /dev/ttyUSB0
[ERROR] A200_Send: Route start data not acknowledged

I have open two route GPX files, one which has been made by Opencpn and the other by GPSbabel. The last one I have imported successfully in Opencpn without loosing any waypoint. I don't know if it can help you :

Debian Lenny AMD64 build

HI Dave,

I was helping Manimaul with a keel cable problem yesterday when he pointed me to this project and asked me to take a look at it. I just wanted to say thanks for a great program, and offer a pointer for anyone trying to build it in 64-bit linux.

I checked out the source code last night and, after fixing a few dependency problems, was able to get it to compile except for one small issue. In chcanv.cpp, on line 3308 where m_pData1 is cast from a void pointer to an int, I was getting a "loss of precision" error that stopped the compilation. I was able to fix it by changing the cast from "int" to "long". I assume the problem was that in a 64-bit OS, an int is not big enough to hold a pointer.

Hope this helps somebody.

Cheers.
Bill
