5.8.0-0 suddenly crashing

Has worked flawlessly
Have changed nothing that I am aware of
And now crashing

Works in safe mode with only dashboard selected

All I can think of is a latest windows 10 update but not sure

Anyway, those that have the skills, for your perusal
And thanks

It looks like this is a problem with OpenGl on some Geforce and Intel arc hardware

I'll re do them later today

That site only stored them for 48hours
For some reason they were to large for CF

Thanks

Re: 5.8.0-0 suddenly crashing

5.8.0 was buggy. Have you tried updating to 5.8.4?
Also, if you have an NVidia card, the "Standard Studio Driver" is more stable than the "DCH" or "Game Ready" drivers. The Studio Driver is the one qualified and tested with Studio Applications like Adobe, Avid, Autodesk etc. before release and has a longer release and support cycle. The game driver has all the latest bleeding edge optimizations.

DCH has some Windows store integration and is preferred by Microsoft. But I have found it buggy, especially in cases where you are offline and the Windows store is unavailable. The Standard version is a traditional driver.

It is difficult to find on the NVidia site. From the downloads page, click "Beta and Older Drivers" then select your card, then change driver type to "Standard" then search. If you download the Studio driver from the main page, you get the DCH version, but from the Beta/Older search you are given that choice.

Stupid thing is I have a second Lenovo tiny downstairs with the older and now the new version installed and no issues with either.

Re: 5.8.0-0 suddenly crashing

This morning started with AIS off and it ran fine, but no GPS so useless
Turns on GPS and crash.

Start with GPS off again and shut down all plugins (climatology, currents) except for dashboard
Turns on AIS and OpenCPN is staying on.

Left AIS on and shutdown and restarted OpenCPN several times and it's working.....for now

That's my win for today..
