Re: Wifi hotspot

SaltwaterChef,
If you can provide the model number of the extender that works with your R36 maybe all the OP has to do is to get Alfa to replace his extender with the same model.
The videos I looked at showed the R36 working with some, but not all Alfa exenders.

Re: Wifi hotspot

Thanks for the input everyone. I just put in for a RMA to Data-Alliance to return the products. I don't mind doing a little work to put a system together, but this was way too much trouble. I will probably go with one of the systems I have seen on here. Probably the one from Anchorageguy.

Re: Wifi hotspot

I would recommend the Wirie: built-in router makes set-up very simple and, the basic system can later be upgraded to permit you to also access 2g/3g/4g cellular networks the system.

Re: Wifi hotspot

That's exactly the combo I have and it works fine. I would recommend going to the Alfa site and downloading the latest firmware for the R36. The NH version of the USB adapter is recent and may not be supported with the firmware version you have. BTW The Wirie is a weatherized version of the R36.
