VHF with Dsc and GPS

Too many abreviations, What is "dsc" ? Why does GPS jump all over the place if I stand still but settles down if I walk around a bit ?

DSC is digital selective calling. And what do you mean by "jumps all over the place"? If you're not moving it has no reference for direction of speed, but the location should be spot on stable.
