Re: Please help a dinosaur

This wiring diagram in this post shows in the lower left corner the Mareton FA-CF-ST Connector, and the wiring in the bottom right shows where it is used to attach to the Raymarine STNG system to the Lowrange Micro T Nmea2000.

I followed the instructions and it worked. It was not that difficult.

I think Panbo may also have mentioned this.

If I understand correctly, you want to control your Rm EV400 from Garmin chartplotter ?
I thouth it is impossible

Because Rm have own proprietary protocol for data exchange between control head and autopilot computer.
They can use NMEA2000 BUS (CAN Bus), but with proprietary messages.

You can send waypoints data, from Garmin to Rm AP, and, as I understand, no more.

These are sufficient to control my B&G autopilot from my 740s.

The only issue is Garmin uses some proprietary protocols for the auto-routing option.

In other words, I can set the Garmin to "go to" a waypoint, and it will tell the autopilot how to stay on the course line. But if I ask the Garmin to invent its own route and follow that, the B&G (and probably any other autopilot) doesn't understand what it's being sent and can't do anything.
