My Mastervolt charger went ‘bang’.

I have a Mastervolt 12v 100/3 battery charger. It’s a few years old but used lightly and never gets damp. Yesterday I turned on the genset and when I turned on the charger it made a loud ‘pop’ (almost loud enough to be a bang). Now the lcd display is fine and shows voltage but there is no charging current. It just shows 0.0 amps with no fault display. There doesn’t appear to be any burn marks or damage to the outside or underside of the unit.

Before I get out my screwdriver and subject it to my electronics prowess, is there anything that the more experienced mind might suggest is wrong with it?

Thanks.
