Low budget high viz fully waterproof display source anyone?

Hi,

having just completed my first little electronics project (DIY remote for Seatalk Autopilot), I am thinking of installing a Rasberry Pi with Openplotter.

I'd like to add a 7" or 10" display on each of our two helmstations outside.

They need to be fully waterproof (IP 65, better IP67) and have about 1000nits for sunlight readability.

Apparently resistive touch works better in wet environments than capacitve touch.

I had a look around but am a bit overwhelmed, especially on Alibaba and similar sites.

As we are on a tight budget I like to hear if someone has found something good along the lines mentioned above, at a very reasonable price (rather 150€ than 700€ a piece!).
If it's to expensive I'll abandon the idea for now.

If you did find something I appreciate a link to it.

Why bother? I just got a Garmin 8417 plotter - has perfect 17" touchscreen. And HDMI-in to connect a PC with OCPN if you want to save on free maps ))

But Garmi maps are free anyway )))

So I recommend Garmin GPSMap 8417...

Does that fit in the budget she mentioned?

Looks like the UK price is the thick end of £7000 and Fran is in the EU somewhere so similar prices. I am sure the Garmin 8417 is very nice, but some of us are on a budget.

Re: Low budget high viz fully waterproof display source anyone?

Recently installed a Raymarine Element 9S at the helm connected to other Raymarine instruments (wind, depth, etc) and the autopilot via a SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 backbone. Has buttons rather than a touchscreen, which I prefer at this exposed location. Screen is fine / readable in direct sunlight. A lot cheaper than the Axiom series. My plan is to not bother connecting to any other plotters but transfer routes via a micro card.
