What is "DSC+"? Digital Selective Calling is categorized by class. The GX1150
radio is qualified to
DSC Class-D. The radio has NMEA-0183 input and output.
A Garmin GPSMAP 78 has a NMEA-0183 interface. To use it, a $36 accessory cable is needed:

On the basis that both devices support NMEA-0183, they should be able to be interconnected using that protocol.
I do not see any basis that a USB interface will be involved, nor will there be any reason to obtain a USB to NMEA-0183 conversion device.
