Iridium GO - Impossible to RESET or UPDATE software

Hi guys,
I've been having troubles with my Iridium Go. It has been Impossible to RESET or UPDATE software. I called Iridium customer support, they were very nice but it didn't they had any ideas what to do beside read instruction from their website.

I tried multiple times to reset the devices. I clicked the reset button, it prompt me with: Reset to Factory Defaults. Goes for a 5-10 seconds. Searching for network, it eventually shuts down and gets stucks again on Initializing for a while. Still shows the same old Wifi name, which indicate that it hasn't resetted properly. I tried login in with a computer to the Advance dashboard to be update the software. The default credential "guest" and password "guest" doesn't work. My old password doesn't work.

I was hoping someone found a way to update the software directly thru USB cable.

If any of you have any ideas, please let me know.

The USB Cable is used for battery charging only.

I don't know who you bought your IridiumGo from, but the one time in 8 years we had trouble with ours, the dealer (Atlantic Radio Telephone) was very helpful in getting a solution and being a helpful interface with the higher end tech support from Iridium.

From PredictWind website.

Please check you have the latest Iridium GO firmware, by opening the Iridium GO! App, login, and go to the Help icon, click on the "about" menu. The Iridium GO! Firmware version should be 2.1.8. It is critical that you have the latest firmware for a reliable connection and the Apps to work.

The Iridium GO! device contains an internal website portal which can be used to upgrade the firmware. You will need a Laptop (PC or Mac) and a high speed internet connection to download the Firmware file. NOTE: Updating the firmware cannot be done on a mobile device or tablet.
Instructions
1. Download the Firmware (50MB file) from this link IridiumGO_Portal_upgrade_2_1_8 If your computer asks what folder to save the Firmware file to, choose 'Desktop'. Once this file has downloaded, you do NOT need to open the file. Go straight to to Step 2.
2. Connect your PC or Mac to the Iridium GO! Wi-Fi.
3. Open an internet browser (recommend Chrome) and enter 192.168.0.1 in the address bar. Press Enter on your keyboard, and login with an administrator account (by default “guest” & "guest").
4. Go to the System tab (top right) and select the Firmware file to upload. It should be in the Desktop or Downloads folder.
5. Once complete you will need to do another power off/on of the Iridium GO!

I’m having the same problem and have the most recent firmware. My ssid number is blank when I looked under the info tab on the device. I don’t see any info regarding this on the website? Also the power on/off doesn’t seem to work wether I have the antenna up or down?? It just keeps trying to reboot. Thanks!

Have you removed the battery for a minute or two, then reinserted it and reboot?

We had to resort to this weekly until the latest firmware came out...

Thanks Bill. I had the battery out a few times and did a bunch of resets. Finally something happened and it’s working right now.
