Re: Shipping a 56 foot Steel OZ Registered Yacht From Turky to OZ

Sail that sucker!! When will you ever have a better chance/excuse/reason to structure your life for a major voyage and test sail? Why not? People solo boats like that over distances like that. If you can round up some crew, so much the better, you'll have a blast. That's my ride next to the tugboat. Longest solo Panama-Hawaii-Guam. Further with crew. Your boat will go anywhere. Make it happen, you'll never regret it.

I am in a similar situation. Sailing the boat yourself sounds like fun, but comes with one slight issue: You'll need to go through the pirate-infested waters near Somalia... Unless you take a much, much longer route.

Not that much longer if its the east coast.. whats a couple or three more weeks in the grand scheme of life..lol
Recently gave a quote for the boat I'm taking to Malta for its refit for its new Aussie owner.. mileage rate for the Suez route but going West about... these distances one can be flexible to a degree.
Though some will disagree..
