Coastal Marine Wi Fi

Hello From Latitude 49, Pacific North West
I have a locally made Wi Fi antenna booster mfg by Coastal Marine Wi Fi, British Columbia, Canada
To "tune" the antenna, the mfg supplies an Ap "EasyBullet". a name and password are supplied when the gear is supplied and installed.
I changed cel phones and lost my Ap name and password.
The company that mfg the gear has gone walk abouts.
Any ideas or suggestions on how to continue. It was a great pc of gear when active.
Cheers
Lawrence

Re: Coastal Marine Wi Fi

I have a similar problem with the Coastal Marine wifi system....the app is no longer available from the Apple store so I can't install the app on my new phone. I've tried to contact Phil @ Coastal Marine but he does not respond to email or phone messages. Although his website is still active I tried to submit a message via the Contact Us page and got an error message. Fortunately I still have the app working on an iPad.
He should have at least warned all his customers that he was going out of business so we could have taken steps to ensure our systems remained functional.

According to their website the AP is a TRENDnet consumer WiFi router. If you can find the model number for the router might be able to work from the TRENDnet side on resetting.

Thanks Dsanduril. That will help resetting the router. Any advice on how to get an app that will work with the router?

Re: Coastal Marine Wi Fi

Sorry, no joy on the app. Even the Windows version seems to be gone (at least from casual searching). The antenna end is a Ubiquiti Bullet, so after a reset you could just use the Bullet interface. It's not as easy as the app, but we have a Bullet at the top of the mast and I don't find it too onerous to use the web interface to scan for networks and then connect to one. Certainly not as clean as the app (that's really what you paid for with the Coastal Marine installation), but if you don't want to throw away the hardware....

Hello Dsanderil
I would be absolutely so grateful if you could work me through the steps of connecting to the antenna as you are doing. My email is Lawrence.papillon@gmail.com
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Re: Coastal Marine Wi Fi

So that suggests the App is still active?
I thought iff web site is inactive so would be the App?

Re: Coastal Marine Wi Fi

No I don't think the app is still available. If you have it on an existing device then I think it will still work. The problem I'm having is I have a new iPhone so it can't download and install the app since it's no longer available on the App Store. I may have to follow Dsanderil's advice and try the Ubiquiti Bullet app after a reset.

Re: Coastal Marine Wi Fi

I'm away working for several weeks so I don't have access to walk through the Bullet in real time. If it isn't changed from default the Bullet is at 192.168.1.20 with user=ubnt and password=ubnt. With a laptop you can plug into the non-powered port of the POE injector (where the TRENDnet AP gets connected), give yourself an IP of 192.168.1.x and see if you can reach the Bullet.

If Coastal Marine changes all the defaults (one would hope so, but then....) then you'll have to reset the Bullet, its been a long time since I did that, would have to look it up.

OnePapillon - that is good news for sure.
Would you be able to post the configuration steps? I expect I will need to do the same sometime soon.
Thanks

Re: Coastal Marine Wi Fi

Hello Drewski
We are close to success and will send you the protocol soon. Admittedly its was a computer savvy friend/boater who took on the challenge. I down loaded "Steps to configure your Ubiquiti Bullet" (9pages) and he was able to access directly the incoming Wi Fi signals and confirm that the antenna is working.
The issue now is linking the bullet back to my new Netgear router. Its all to do with IP addresses now. Perhaps a reader of this will jump in and save some head scratching. Notwithstanding I will grind it out and get back up and running soon. I will then send you as much as you need to get you up and running.
Cheers
