Well, then you've won already. There are literally thousands of project boats out there for you to spend your time and energy on. Very few of them have actual holes in the bottom.

Wow, a poster who was actually looking for advice and seems to have accepted the good advice they received. How refreshing! It seems like the majority of these posts seem to be people looking only to have their prior opinions and decisions affirmed.

Look at the last few pages, people post interesting boats, mostly in the 27+ foot range, and mostly in OK condition...and someone will always give you an opinion on worthiness (or not) of "that deal"...

I recently finished repairing hull damage on a boat. No penetration but fractures never the less. So I can only imagine the scenario with the one you're looking at. Likely the damage extends up to 3 times the area of the hole. Then due to the impact and hull flex, the interior is probably blown out due to bulkheads dislodging.

Unless the boat is a give away...run! It's not worth it. Hurricane Ian has destroyed and damaged hundreds and hundreds of boats. Be patient. Another one will come along and most likely a lot less damage.
