Congratulations on the purchase!

My cousin managed to singlehand his Contessa across to Ireland last year - handled everything beautifully! Great boat.

The Contessa in San Francisco Bay is back on Craigslist again. This time at $6000. With some work, someone will get a great boat.____Grant.

The entire boat was taken apart and rebuilt, recored, all deck hardware re-bedded and interior redone. I could of bought several other CO26's on the east coast for 6-15k but decided after survey to get a boat that was in great condition as I am not terribly handy and did not want to spend more time refitting then sailing. The previou owner all rewired the entire boat.

I sailed to NYC via the Erie canal which was an amazing trip. My dream is to do a solo-transatlantic one day. Co26 are beautiful boats, I get complements all the time. Her cabin is small especially as I'm 6'2, but I love the simplicity and that she has few systems for me to maintain. The the overall costs, winter storage, etc are much cheaper then say, my friends Alberg 30.

Best of luck, she is great boat. I've sailed her alone in all sorts of weather and always feel safe and comfortable...Here is the link to my boat..

good luck with your new boat!
Lovely sailing vessel you got there. When I started looking for a sailer 7 years ago this is exactly the boat I was looking for Unfortunately it was not the boat I needed. C'est la vie and have a lovely time sailing. I might just end up trailering my M down your way. BBB

It will take some work with that boat, but that is a good price for her too.

On another note, the owner of the boat I am buying is asking to remain 1% owner so he can retain his slip until it is sold. Is this something that happens relatively frequently? Or should I say no to this. The contract seems sound and makes me the managing owner, but I am a little worried about both our names appearing on the title.
