We thought we would update our cost of cruising - we left last jan and sailed to
mexico,
belize,guatemala,bay isl of
honduras,
panama,
colombia and back to
panama where we currently are: well soulmates is and we are in the
usa with
family
for 12.5 months are costs are averaging $1,817 a month -
now that includes more dockage than we wanted as our
insurance company insisted on a marina in
cartagena; second one crew had some elective surgery on the hand in
cartagena; third a lot of
boat upgrades in cartagena including a bigger condensor for the reefer, drawers for chart
storage, replacing a drippless shaft bearing and bottom job.
we do not really skimp on a lot and did a lot of sightseeing and inland trips
here is our percentage breakdown:

this adds up to about 98% the rest is misc stuff
this does not yet include our trip back to the
usa and our
cruising guides and
charts for this trip were in last years expenses - we have yet to get the
charts and
cruising guides for where we are headed this year
