Hoses & Fittings in Spanish Wells

Does anyone know if I can get hoses (for our watermaker) and fittings in Spanish Wells?

I'm pretty sure one of our nylon fittings cracked during out passage down from Marsh Harbour ... so I am planning on bypassing the nylon "manifold" to get our watermaker back up and running.

Depends on what kind of hose. If just a low pressure feed hose then maybe. Fittings, not unless they are very generic.

Thank you. I'm pretty sure I need 5/8 hose, the OD is ~16mm... but I think if I can find a way to join 2 hoses of that size, I should be able to bypass the manifold. Absolute best solution would be a hose mender (barb to barb).

Gord posted a link to the local marine and hardware. They should certainly have some kind of hose.

If you just need any old 5/8" hose and a way to connect it to another 5/8" hose as a temporary fix then that should be easy. In fact, you could get by without the barb if they don't have a male/male barb the right size. Just use a larger hose like a sleeve and clamp or tape it around the ends.

Not sure if the OP is going that far. The location he's referring to is in the north Bahamas.

Re: Hoses & Fittings in Spanish Wells

Hardware store looked pretty decent when I was there a few years back. It's home to the largest fishing fleet in the Bahamas so there's lots of supplies.
It was also the best place I've ever seen to get pole spear and Hawaiian sling rubber and accessories at great prices!!! Don't anchor to close to the mangroves on the east side of town ! The noseumms will eat your butts off if there's no wind!!! Also watch out for when The Bahamas Ferry comes through the channel!!! There isn't much room if you meet him when he's coming through it!!!If your over in the marina all will be good!

You going to have to be creative I think or lucky.
Take the hose with you with the idea of finding a piece of pipe, tubing whatever to use as a splice.

The almost total lack of any kind of supplies in the Bahamas has me totally flabbergasted, how do all these boats I see get by?
