Medical insurance

Hey all,

I'm looking for a good medical insurance for a sailing trip, from Maine to Sydney later this year.

Could someone please point me in the right direction ?

Hi Nexus, there are a few companies out there that have medical insurance for cruisers. For us, we chose IMG, which we purchased through IMIS: IMIS Online Services (disclaimer: we have no financial interest in this.... just a customer). We haven't had a claim, so I can't give first hand experience in that area, but they have a good reputation. Some have recommended medical evacuation insurance also. We found with the international health insurance, that you need to be leaving the US/Canada within 30 days of the purchase of the policy and must remain outside of the US/Canada for at least 6 months out of the year.
