Re: Ebola Fears in the Canary Islands
Viruses are biological in nature, ie; require dehydration to expire. So let's not take these cases to an aired dry climate for containment. Let's take them to the muggy, humid ie; moist Southeast US which will insure the virus's survival. What is Atlanta, if not an International Hub. What is the mean income of the other users of the Ambulance service used in the media footage. I could tell you an accurate estimate as I trained to be an EMT-I in those Ambulances. I'm also Chemical Corps Army Bio-Hazard Certified.
It doesn't look good boys and girls.

Re: Ebola Fears in the Canary Islands
I'm in Atlanta currently visiting one of my projects and the locals are not happy to say the least.

To be fair, that article was edited just a short while ago and that information was added. Unfortunately they don't have an edited date and time. That info was not there when I first read the article.

Re: Ebola Fears in the Canary Islands
I heard some doctors explain that the virus is not spread through the air yet looking at video footage of the incoming patient leaving the ambulance under his own power there was someone helping him and that person seem to be in a suit with an independent air supply. Could it be that there is no certainty in how it is spread?

So they were merely spreading rumors with no facts. Sweet...

Re: Ebola Fears in the Canary Islands
Gee, isn't that news? What do you think the Washington Post would have reported if it had happened in DC?

Re: Ebola Fears in the Canary Islands
lance, once you go to a waterproof suit that positively prevents all fluid transfer, the suit becomes a standard CBW moon suit. (Excuse me, I think they call the "biohazard" suits these days.) But whatever you call it, some type of positive pressure or self-contained air system becomes normal and necessary, since "waterproof" also makes it airtight, and you need a mechanism to supply safe air to prevent the occupant from stewing in their own juices. Or suffocating.
What is interesting was a mention in a news report about the Atlanta site, stating that it is one of four unspecified safe sites that CDC has co-partnered to build at some unspecified recent time for similar unspecified purposes.

Re: Ebola Fears in the Canary Islands
How was the article misleading? The title is EBOLA SCARE and that's exactly what happened. And of course, all stories lead to a final conclusion in the third act when the villain is unmasked.

They have no idea, me thinks. Many of the health workers have been killed and they were dressed in outrageous bio protective gear.
