Yup, winter's coming, and soon the wimps will either pull their
boats for the season or
head south (

), we stalwarts will enjoy quite (but colder) waters.
What about cold feet. Seaboots are the standard answer, but for most
boats they are overkill most of of the time. For sport boats they are clunky. So what do you like?
- Goretex shoes of some type.
- Waterproof socks.
- Neoprene dinghy boots.
- Wonder Bread bags.
- Something else? Something you would like tested?
My
PDQ was a very dry
boat, so Goretex shoes were the most I ever needed, and I seldom needed those. Just fleece socks and ordinary
deck shoes. My F-24 gets
water in the
cockpit and lacks the hard top, so it if it is cold, rainy, and wild I might wear a drysuit (attached feet) with
dinghy boots or
deck shoes. If it's warm wet feet are OK or just dinghy boots or Goretex socks. But I would like to have something agile I could wear with regular rain
gear, or even spray
gear when the only threat is the open transom.
