Two of the six men arrested during June’s El Capitán bust were sentenced this week: Mauricio Brito, convicted of conspiracy to commit the sale or transportation of marijuana, received 308 days in County Jail. Dieber Chavez received 180 days in jail on the same charge. Marco Rangel and Habel Herrera had been sentenced to 252 days and 308 days, respectively, but are on immigration holds. The other two men are awaiting their sentencing dates.

Such a tragedy.

It would be so much more economical to just legalize it and tax it.

From what I read in the article most of the interdictions involved illegal immigrants so you will still need the Coast Guard to be out there doing there job. Even if Marijuana were legalized the gangs will still be smuggling other drugs or MORE illegals. There would be no cost savings in enforcement.

Thanks for posting the link to the article, very interesting (and just sad).

I desperately wanted to visit Santa Cruz when I lived in LA but just never could make it happen, now I'm starting to wonder if it is getting to be a little too wild wild west out there. I love Mexico but I really despise every one of the border towns I've ever been to, and it seems like it's just creeping farther north all the time. I haven't been in a while, but is this kind of activity extending farther south past Rosarito now too?

I just spent 6 months in Ensenada and it felt far safer than Southern California. The only bad things that I saw or heard about happening were between Americans in the marina. I rode my bicycle all over town at all hours and it's safe. There is certainly drug activity, there is in ever city in the world, but I didn't see anything weird or scary at all except for a couple of transvestite hookers on Miramar street. It's the strip bar street.

Yeah. Although I don't look for hookers, sometimes I look at them. The ugly tranny hookers also hung out with some pretty hookers and the association kinda spoiled the whole thing. I don't much like the idea of checking out dudes in dresses even if it's an accident.

lol, when I was about 22-23 I was in a part of Reno where the strip clubs are, I'd never actually seen a hooker on the street before because they were all at the brothels

Anyway I'm stopped at a light, under a bridge in a dodgy part of town and I see a red dress and heels walk in front of me.

Sexy red Sliletto's mmmmm

Just PERFECT tan calves Legs for days and perfect thighs.

Bright red dress cut kinda high, and a perfect flat tummy. oooh ya!

Just magnificent B cups, high and perky.

Then my personal weakness, petite shoulders and a beautiful thin long sculpted neck. mmmmm but that's weird this chick has a bit of an adam's apple and I thought women didn't have those??? wait a sec? What? So my focus zooms out a little bit and all of a sudden he looked like a puerto rican dude in a dress.

It's always interesting to start a thread with little comment and see were it drifts. And who takes it for their own non boat related agenda.

Actually very easy - leaving aside that some do look like lumberjacks in dresses , one of the tricks is to see how other women react to them. and depending on where you are, whether you still have your wallet inside 30 seconds of meeting .

But anyone who says that a good looking one doesn't mess with yer mind at least a little bit is a liar . or a player . Apparently the Nile runs through Bangkok .

remains to be seen how it works out but I'm hopeful. But honestly I don't see much happening until large-scale grow operations are legal. And now we've setup a system where the state has an interest in keeping the price elevated.
