track distance on Raymarine RC435 plotter
Seems to me that with the track enabled, I used to be able to get a measurement of the actual distance traveled somewhere on this darn thing, but now I can't figure out how! Maybe it was a mild hallucination. Been all through the (useless) manual. Anyone familiar with this? thanks, pete

Er, ask Raymarine's support people. Head off to Raymarine Marine Electronics - Welcome, create a signin (no spam comes back), and then ask on the "Ask Raymarine" area. It works. Honest!

Three days seems a little long but they do answer questions. I've asked enough questions that my account now goes to a second page for just the list of questions asked (and answered). I can't recall any questions "falling through the cracks".

Hey Pete
I've got two of the 435s. Easiest way is to choose "Make into Route" after you put "Track On". The route functions will give you distance.
Hope that helps.

- TIP: Can't remember your Insider login name or password? Click here, enter your email, and we will send them to you!
- TIP: Add our email address, raymarine@custhelp.com, to your address book or safe senders list. This will allow our replies to get through your email spam blocker.
1. Begin by clicking on the Ask Raymarine tab and typing your question in.

If you followed that, particularly the Ask Raymarine tab section, you should have received some sort of answer.

I did follow it, but did not receive an answer, hence my previous post.

Darn. I've got no other bright ideas; I've gotten replies back faster than that and I don't have any "juice" with Raymarine.
The suggestion about turning a track into a route to get the track's length strikes me as being at least better than a poke in the eye.
