Laptop Mount

I would like ideas on how to secure my laptop onto the chart table. The table has a lid that opens up to allow storage underneath. The lid is polished wood so I would like to avoid drilling into it.

Look at RAM mounts and see if there is a convenient way to mount the RAM to the wall and suspend the laptop over the table. They have many options.

Adhesive velcro strips work very well. I wonder how well they'll come off the finish in the future, though.
