Charts of French Polynesia ?

We expect to take the Puddle Jump next Spring and will be leaving from Puerto Vallarta. Does anyone know of a good supplier down there or should I plan on bringing back some when I make my last trip from Colorado in a few weeks. We're currently in Mexico but I have one last trip to back home.

There may be a supplier, but I never saw one and I did visit most boat related stores in Tahiti. So I would bring them from the USA.
We have electronic charts from Navionics and b&w charts from Bellingham Chart Printers. The charts seemed pretty accurate (I’m not sure when the actual surveys were done, but maybe it’s more recent than most? I heard that the French did many new surveys during the years of nuclear testing in French Polynesia.)

I also would try to obtain and bring them from the US.

Check Catalogue : Carte 7246, Polynésie française

The French chart 7246 is the best to get and the most up-to-date; I assume. I think you can get it from a chart supplier in the US.

Can you give me a favour and visit my homepage from French Polynesia? I have got only one visit from there so far. Thanks a lot.

Send a message via Skype™ to capt_douglas
Bluewater Books and Charts has the complete French chart catalog. I'd give them a call.

Hi Meztrezat- if you haven't already... join the yahoo 'puddle jump' group. There is good info on charts. A couple of recommendations: get the chart pack from Bellingham Chart printers. When you arrive in PV, get in touch with SV Kavenga...he has an extensive chart inventory, and charts may be copied in PV. You'll also be in touch with a lot of other cruisers who have info on e-charts and programs.

But... make sure you have a decent inventory... Bellingham Chart printers is a good bet.
