Lewmar Ocean 1 Windlass (1999?) - Help with terminal config

I haven't been able to find a manual for this windlass. Attached is a photo of the current state of the motor. It looks like there's a Y connector between the negative and positive terminals (no idea why that would be), and part of it is corroded through.

Just wondering if anyone can provide guidance on if that connector should even be there, and if so, what I should replace it with. The text on the yellow piece reads:
