It would be more fair to say that Dyneema is neutral. ANY tension on the rode, even a few ounces, and it will pull straight.

I think this is an interesting idea, worth the discussion, but there are too many practical problems that have not been ironed out.
Dyneema single braid absolutely does float. We have 10mm single braid shorelines and if we leave a 6m polyester webbing strap attached to the end (used to attach to a shore feature), when we pull the shoreline back to the boat the webbing strap sinks to the bottom and the shoreline comes up to the surface at a sharp angle and floats. There’s enough surface area drag that there’s a bit of catenary at lower tensions.
